The profile sought
As part of a global finance operations team, responsibilities include:
- Processing financial transactions and performing initial controls and analysis through reconciliations and month-end close activities
- Maintaining accurate local and management accounts within financial systems and ensuring all balances are fully reconciled
- Partnering with operational leadership on budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial control
- Preparing and submitting required statutory, regulatory, and governmental reports in line with applicable deadlines
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate and timely month-end close processes
- Prepare general ledger journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and provisions
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for assigned accounts and support compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, depreciation, and disposals
- Prepare, reconcile, and submit statutory, regulatory, and compliance-related filings while supporting audit and authority queries
- Monitor regulatory and statutory changes and adapt accounting processes to maintain compliance
- Support leadership and business teams with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial reporting
- Identify and communicate financial risks and opportunities in a timely manner
- Contribute to finance-related projects and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with organizational strategy
Profile
- Fluency in English and at least one local language (french OR dutch)
- Degree in accounting or finance
- Partially qualified or fully qualified accountant
- Several years of experience preparing VAT returns
- Knowledge of local statutory regulations and bookkeeping practices
- Organized, proactive, flexible, and responsive working style
- Solution-oriented mindset with a focus on efficiency, quality, and continuous improvement
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of responsibilities, and apply professional judgment in complex situations
- Collaborative approach with openness to change, development, and continuous learning
- Basic knowledge of finance or ERP systems and accounting software suites
