For one of our clients, we are looking for a Payroll Officer in Mechelen.

Location: Mechelen + parking

Salary: 2960 – 3974 EUR gross per month

The profile sought

Key responsibilities will include:

Payroll Administration

  • Managed payroll for 10 European sales offices in coordination with local payroll providers.
  • Calculated bonuses and salaries in line with regional standards and company policies.
  • Administered HR tasks including tracking vacation, sick leave, and overtime.
  • Maintained and audited employee records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitored labor law changes across multiple countries and ensured timely implementation.

Payroll Project Support

  • Supported the implementation and management of employee benefits, such as insurance and pension plans.
  • Generated reports and analyzed HR data related to vacation, sickness, and overtime trends.
  • Advised management, employees, and colleagues on social legislation and policy implications.
  • Identified and executed process improvements for HR and payroll functions.
  • Contributed to the analysis and rollout of updated HR policies and compliance frameworks..

Your Profile:

  • International mindset, and you are able to work with change (flexible);
  • You take full ownership of tasks and projects, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
  • Good understanding of Payroll Processes;
  • You are willing to learn and growth within the company on the long term.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge;
  • Strong communication skills in English (Business Proficiency) + any of the following languages at a C2 level (Czech, Dutch, French, German, Hungarian, Polish, Romanian, Slovak or Slovenian);
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a similar position;
